RIT/A.U.K Model United Nations Club members attend the Harvard Model United Nations in the USA
Members from the RIT/A.U.K Model United Nations Club (MUN) include Getoar Agushi, Jeta Loshaj, Tringa Krasniqi, Guri Panduri, and Almarin Ademi all of whom represented RIT/A.U.K during a conference held in Boston, Massachusetts on the 11th -14th February. This conference was hosted by Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) one of the largest, oldest, and most prestigious conference of its kind. It offers simulated United Nations activities to a diverse range of college and university students. Our students were financially sponsored by RIT/A.U.K and Elkos Group which enabled them to attend this event.
The theme of the conference was a simulation of the United Nations Assembly at the University level. During this conference our RIT/A.U.K delegates gained insights concerning various decision-makings processes of the United Nations where the students actively participated in discussing solutions of important global issues. Driven by common goals and surrounded by a warm, social environment, our students collaborated with hundreds of other university students in various workshops and social events.
HNMUN offers a unique opportunity to experience challenges of international negotiation and diplomacy; the numbers illustrate its popularity where each year more than 3,000 students and faculty from around the world participate. HNMUN provides students the opportunity to express and improve their diplomatic skills, learn the development of resolutions, and experience an international environment provided by an Ivy League university, such as Harvard.
One of the main objectives of the RIT/A.U.K MUN Club is to make sure the youth of Kosovo are given opportunities to be represented in international conferences, such as the HNMUN conference
